Just to add something to this excellent run of great-looking silver, here's my nicely toned 1811 silver halfcrown token of John Robertson, noted Geordie silversmith.

Northumberland D1, EF.

I never pay too much for my tokens...but every now and then I may buy one a little too soon.

So I thought seeing as I had a voucher for 5 coins I would submit a few testers to NGC and although we are on day 44 they are finally on their way back .Overall they were pretty much as I expected Definitely worth the outlay . For your perusal

Oh and I just noticed they added the variety as of now unlisted unbarred A in BRITANNIA on the 1797 Penny. Really pleased they added that.

One of the more atttractive of Britain's early 19th-century copper tokens, this relatively ornate 1812 penny was struck for the Rose Copper Company of Birmingham and Swansea from dies engraved by Thomas Halliday.

Withers 277, Davis Warwickshire 98, 36mm, 26g.
