"You'll have to wait a few month for mine, not long enough on this forum yet."

I had a girlfriend say something like that to me one time.

When I was 19 I was in a jungle getting shot at. The only thing on my mind back than was getting back home alive.

Wow 17 ! I thought the minimum age was 18 ?
Now that I look back when I was 17 I am surprised my parents even trusted me with the family car.

At age 18 and 19 I was in two ballots (drafts) and I missed on both occasions for which I was eternally grateful.
No disrespect intended, in fact I have the highest regard (and gratitude) for those that did (and do) serve, but not for me. My 95 year old father served 1939 to 1952 and I admire him (and ALL of the others greatly for ensuring that we can live as 'free' people. Thank-you. "Lest We Forget".

I'm not going to post a pic of myself...never been comfortable with that idea. But, as an alternative way of "revealing," here are some of my artworks...assuming the links work. The pic resolution is lousy throughout, but it's a free site so I have no right to complain. I do hope to get my own site at some point soon...

A recently finished painting inspired by a 2013 trip to Assisi..."St. Francis Preaching to the Birds," oil on wood panel:
