Although I have an 1852 in a higher grade (raw) I am very pleased to have picked this one up (top pop NGC MS63) simply for the extensive die cracks on both sides of the coin.
I can't imagine these dies were in service for very much longer after producing this little gem.

I had also bid on this token.

Thus, it is the common Courteau #247 with its characteristic light defect on the reverse between left rosette and letter «Bank».

I have many examples of this variety in my population census, but I must admit that this token is the one of Courteau #247 with the most advanced stage of broken die. A nice catch!

Ains,

what is the first and last initial of your eBay user name? I would rather not run the price up on something you are truly after (unless of course it's something that I am truly after!)

@Wade:

I have a second eBay account for my coins/tokens purchases on eBay in order to remain relatively anonymous. But thank you for your offer...

rare(ish) JRoy (well struck example for the type), with a little clip for added flavor:

A recent find of mine, NF1A2 Rutherford token of Newfoundland
this only the second one I've found in over two decades of detecting..
