Well, I am late to the party once more. I fell like I'm running out of excuses. Anyway, here's last Sunday's report.

I managed to get my hands on two rather large lots for quite cheap. Lots of currency.
Better late than never. Nice group!

X2an - that's a great haul!

Earle42 - thanks for drawing my attention to the value of the Ugandan 50c! And, by the way, the 1977 Elizabeth II item isn't a medal - it's a bona fide coin, a crown piece that was available for face value in UK banks for the face value of 25 pence! I remember as a teenager being very annoyed that these coins didn't have the face value on them, a I got about 10 from various banks and tried to spend them, but lots of shopkeepers said "it doesn't say 25p on it, so I'm not taking it!" I ended up spending most of them in my college canteen.

Nice pickup, X2an - I like the Finnish 5 Markka!

By the way, your UK shillings are 1950 and 1957. Both English rather than Scottish types.

Well, a week late might be the new standard for now. Atleast there's a double-issue coming today!

Last week was, for once in a while, rich in silver. Lots of other things also came along.

This week had considerably less silver. Not as many interesting coins either - rather a round of restocking certain dates.

50 Íre, Sweden 1999 (x2), 2004, 2006 (x4) & 2007 (x2)
1 Krona, Sweden 1973, 1999, 2000 & 2002 (x4)
5 Kronor, Sweden 1972 & 1973 (x5)
50 Cents, Cyprus 1996, 1998 (x2) & 2004 (x3)

So, not too many interesting coins this week. With one major exception!

What is this, you may ask. Why, isn't that the very rare 5 kr variety with no streams behind the lion in the shield that everyone is talking about?
If that is what comes to your mind, then you are absolutely correct! This one was hiding among many other coins of the same type. This is why you should always check for varieties. So, I was a happy boy driving home today.

40 kr worth all together.

Nice find on the rare one for sure. I personally don't know enough about non-US and Canada coins to have been able to know it was rare, but am happy for your find .
