Regularly mixing nickels into my hunts again, I've been pleasantly surprised by what I have come across lately. This week in ~$200 of mixed customer and machine wrapped rolls, I've scored all semi-keys except the 49S (of which I found an entire customer-wrapped roll full of those last year in a collection dump), a number of 59P, a 58P, a couple War Nickels (44P, 44S), several 2009s of both P and D mint, several 2024 P and a 2024 D, a 1968 Canadian nickel, and an exceptional sharply-struck dark 57P (not on the "rough" black beauty planchet, but very similar to darker 58P and 59P I have come across that were sharply struck on darker planchets, and are almost proof-like in appearance). I might start a separate thread on these if I can accurately capture them in photos side-by-side with the 58/59P black beauties I've found and standard 58/59P. Just another curiosity in the Jeff nickel universe.

Do you all save the 68,69,70 S nickels. I love saving " S" nickels. I have a couple of rolls starched away for my grandkids. There all over 100 million mintage. Thoughts?

I got one of those mail solicitations for donation that contains nickels. To my surprise one of the four coins was a 1942-P War Nickel. Roll hunting for silver hasn't been productive lately. Maybe the solution is to just wait and have random silver coins delivered in the mail!

Continuing to have some decent luck, including a 42 P silver nickel; a 2007 S proof and a 1974 S proof that's been in circuation a VERY long time; a couple more 2024s (P and D) plus 2009s (P and D); and a few early 60s BU examples. Nothing spectacular or photo worthy but spicy hunts are always welcome.
