Finished a box of Loomis nickels yesterday. There were only 10 pre-1960 finds, which made it one of the worse boxes I've ever hunted. However, I also found a 2009-D, 2009-P, and a 2024-P (my very first), so from that perspective, it was a pretty good box. So I'm not sure what to make of it.

Cheers!

After a bunch of so-so nickel hunts lately (mostly CWR), I stumbled upon a great box that gave up a 74 S impaired proof, FOUR 1943 P war nicks, stunning 1940 P and 1942 P (non silver) upgrades, a pair of 1955 P, and the 7th 1941 S large S FS-501 I've found since I started this crazy journey several years ago.

Here are the 41 S FS-501 examples.I didn't use a scope for the close-ups but am happy to do so if anyone wants clearer images. I think @Brandmeister is a fellow collector of this variety as well.

I am indeed an aficionado of the Large S varieties! To have pulled those all from circulation is quite remarkable. Well done! =)
