Lesya Ukrainka, born Larysa Petrivna Kosach (1871 - 1913) was one of Ukrainian literature's foremost writers, best known for her poems and plays. She was also an active political, civil, and feminist activist.
Golda Meir (1898 - 1978), an Israeli politician who served as the fourth prime minister of Israel from 1969 to 1974. She was the first woman to become head of government in Israel.
