I think your next thread should be the biggest, be cool to see the difference.

You'd end up with half a thread of Morgans, cartwheels, and Catherine II 5 kopeks. (Though maybe not in terms of pictures, because most of the people whose largest coin is one of those would just say what it is and not post a picture, especially if a few were posted already.)

In any case, the other coin I posted was not my smallest; I don't have a photo of the actual smallest, so here's what I believe to be the second smallest...

Yes, that's a British sixpence as scale (apparently, a British sixpence is actually a bit larger than a US cent, which I didn't know before).

EDIT: and the tiny coin is a monogram nummus of Leo I (5th century).

I like seeing all these different small coins

This one is not as small as some of these posted,
but one of my favorites from my ancient coin album.

From roman Claudius 41 - 54 AD

I am always amazed how coins like this, nearly 2000 years
old, end up in my collection.

What a great topic. I have a collection of tiny coins, 17mm and under. I had always planned to do a topic about them but never got around to it.

I have over 200 coins in my 'tiny' collection, but I actually have more than this as most of my tiny silver coins are kept separate.

Couldn't resist the urge to pull the trigger on this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Panama-2-1-...4312?txnId=0

Not my smallest, but the details really make this one "feel" like it is. My first impression was that the coin feels like those mini coins that come in novelty sets. Easy to see why these only lasted for 1 year until being discontinued.

I have a few "toy" coins like the minaturised
American coins in the 2x2 on page one... or this German coin which is tiny (photo taken with a USB microscope...

My favourite tiny coin is this ancient one...amazing the detail they could produce and the fact it still survives.

My smallest coin, 11mm diameter, 0.5 gram --

Mongolia -- 2015 1000 togrog (tugrik):

(Probably should have used f/4 and focus stacking on this one (with the 75mm APO Rodagon-D 1x lens), since magnification is about 1.25x
