MAD = (Mis-Aligned-Die) Spelling can make a difference. How could something inanimate be mad? Thus the caps on that term. DDO, DDR, RPM are just a few of the Caps we use to Identify a certain coin event. Thus MAD would be the correct term, rather than Mad.

How does grease affect the strike on a coin? it prevents the strike up of the devices. more grease, less devices are seen. look for the wider base of the devices.
http://goccf.com/t/431625#3711676

What is a die event? How does this affect the coins struck with that die? die age. as they age, they receive damage. that damage is removed by die polishing. When this happens the coins will be affected when struck with this die with previous die events. this a normal part of life for a die.

How is spread, different than a Grease Fill and circulation flattening? flattening enlarges devices and grease strikes prevent the tapered areas of the devices to appear. Die wear is distorted more towards the closest rim direction.

Can more than one issue affect a coin at the same time? yes. note the DDD and also the Machine Doubling is affecting this coin. on another coin could could have all three, but not on this example it is a normal coin affected by DDD and Machine Doubling.
http://goccf.com/t/431854#3713609

What will help me see doubled dies easier? seeing side by sides that show hub doubling (doubled die) and a normal die. the side by side will help to see the spread easier on a doubled die. Seeing is understanding.
http://goccf.com/t/431743#3713658

Why do lamination errors happen? cold metal rolled on to a hot sheet of metal, will adhere for a time. but a later can fall off the coin or hang onto the coin. depending on the heat of the hot roll temps.

Should a die crack affect the rim on a coin on a cracked die? no. The step down on the gutter should not show a die crack. (coin scratches will show that area affected, with in incuse line)

What do you mean: "Distorted Devices?" slight movement of the hub altered the devices on this area during die creation, making this a doubled die on that area of the design on these quarters. hub doubling on the die mark makes that die a doubled die
http://goccf.com/t/431854#3714220

Can Machine Doubling be different from strike to strike? yes and it does happen differently because of the looseness of that machine.
