I do all of my shipping of coins through the USPS, and over the past couple of months, three coins have not arrived at the desired destination. In another case, the package arrived, but the side was slit open and the coin removed.

Has anyone else had issues like this? Until two months ago, I never had a problem.

I live in South Carolina. I have ordered about $10,000 dollars in coins and bullion over the past two months. There are 57 orders in total. All arrived on time and were not missing any of the content.

Here's the key:

1. Were all the coins ordered from the same location? If the answer is yes, then it could be a problem at the place of purchase.

2. If the answer is no, then I would say it is your postman or postwoman. Let the postmaster of the location or region know. No one who works as a sorter has time to go through your coins. That environment is too fast.

Actually,a package of mine back from NGC says it was delivered on Saturday, and I have not received it,really hoping its just a screw up and it gets delivered today, otherwise I am going to have to make a few phone calls and see where indeed the package got dropped off at. Good luck to you.

I've received many coins in the mail through ebay ... some people just have the coins just loose in the envelope or the coins in a flip loose or bag in flopping around inside....wow its amazing some made it too my house.... the big thing is don't be cheap on tape ...I like it where I have to work to get the coin out of the package or envelope ... even taping the outside is a good thing ... one better...tape the coin to an inside piece and tape that to the outside envelope/package.... don't make it easy for someone at USPS to open

with theft ...taking a look on how you ship....go to a different PO... can it be open easily... can someone tell what's inside... could someone tell what's inside by your return address or how your package/envelope is .... snowman

In 2015 I stopped ordering online. Christmas time 2014 I shipped a ring from Los Angles to Boston and the package was cut open and the ring was missing.

I also ordered earrings, and t206 Baseball cards that said they were delivered at my unit but never arrived but it seemed that lower value packages were making it. In total there were 7 packages that didn't make it to me which I came to find out were all put in the mailbox below or above mine at my apartment building. But at the time there was so much turnover with postal employees that there was someone new delivering my mail every few days so they were making tons of mistakes. I finally put a hold on my mail and started picking up everything at the post office once a week to ensure nothing was lost.

I do all of the above... I usually put the coins in flips, then I bubble wrap them, tape them to the inside of the envelope/package, and I also tape the envelopes/packages after they've been sealed. I'm very thorough, and often get the comment "very well packaged/protected" when I get feedback.

The slit envelope seems to be an isolated incident which likely happened close to the destination. My guess is that it's probably someone in charge of picking up the mail at certain drop off boxes who is responsible for the lost coins.
