Thanks Oijogja. Last November or December, I was trying to fill a couple of cent books that I started when I was a kid and I bought some $25 boxes from the bank and it was in one of them. Fortunately, I had been looking at a couple of you tube channels and one of the videos was about this particular coin.

spruett001, thanks for your comment. I did not put a reserve on the coin, figured I was blessed enough to find it and what it brings is what I'm suppose to get. Heritage says they typically start the coin from 25%-60% of the low estimate and it is up to the auctioneer. I'm guessing since this is a rare coin, it will start closer to the upper end, but I don't know for sure.
Thanks again to you all.

Yeah, in this case, it doesn't really matter what the starting bid is,

I'm predicting near or over $30k. Don't hold me to it.

The best of luck!

I said I would keep you all updated on this coin so this post is to let you know that it sold tonight at Heritage auction in Chicago and brought $18,212.50. Thanks again to all of you who commented and encouraged. There are lots of really nice folks here and I've learned a lot from you in the past few months, you are appreciated.

Thanks everyone. matttheriley, I have an affinity to silver, so I will be adding to the hoard. Also, the wife and I have some friends who do mission work in Senegal and we plan on assisting them along with a couple others we know who could use some assistance.

I dug up this post from very late 2016.

This was a couple years before I joined and a lot of these users aren't active and some have passed away.

It doesn't seem that long ago though really.

I just wanted to congratulate OldJoeCLark on an excellent find wherever he may be.

Here is the PCGS photo which I don't think was posted. Graded AU53

Was a nice coin to find in 2017 and it's good to know that they still show up in today's world, too!
