Here's the enameled version of the Canada's 2007 Thayendanegea commemorative silver dollar from the Royal Canadian Mint; it was available as an individually-packaged Limited Edition coin.

Thayendanegea (aka Joseph Bryant) was a member of the Mohawk tribe. He attended school in Connecticut and was brought up learning British customs. He aligned himself with the British during the American Revolution under the promise of having the lands of his Native people that were seized by the British before the War returned to them after it. As the British lost the War, the return of the land did not happen.

Bryant served as a statesman after the war, securing land for the Six Nations tribes (in present-day Canada) and working with Native Americans to encourage them to cooperate among themselves and resist the further takeover of their land.

Thayendanegea died August 24, 1807. The coin marks the 200th anniversary of his death in Canada.

Here's the 2005 Centennial of Alberta silver $5.00 collector coin along with its 25-cent circulating counterpart in a First Day of Mintage card; both were struck by the Royal Canadian Mint ( RCM). The coins mark the 100th anniversary of Alberta joining the Canadian Confederation.

Canada's 1990 commemorative silver dollar celebrated the 300th anniversary of the journey taken by explorer Henry Kelsey into the interior of Western Canada (1690-92).

Per the Canadian Encyclopedia, "Kelsey was an explorer and trader who worked for the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) for nearly 40 years. He helped establish the Company's fur trade operations at York Fort on the west coast of Hudson Bay and at Fort Albany on James Bay. Kelsey is best known for his two-year journey from Hudson Bay to the western interior between 1690 and 1692, making him the first European to see the [Canadian] Prairies. His goal was to encourage Indigenous peoples living inland to travel to York Fort to trade their furs." (The full article is a great read: Henry Kelsey Biography).
