I'm familiar with the owner of one of those shops and he is "famed" for offering stupid cheap prices on anything collectible including coins and tokens.

Offered $1200 for a 1908 D no motto St. Gauden in MS 67.

There are many types of bottom-feeders and it appears that two of them met up here. Hard to prefer either side of the transaction since both sides are slimy.
