Struck by MACO, marketed by Presidential Art Medals, Inc, the 1.25 inch bronze of Benjamin Franklin shown below was one of 56 medals in the "Declaration Signers" Series, celebrating those who put their signatures to the Declaration of Independence. The design, by sculptor Ralph J. Menconi, bears a 1962 copyright mark.

Serial numbered silver versions were also issued.

Medallic Art, Ralph J. Menconi, 1969, Inaugural Medal of Richard Nixon.
From the medal brochure: "The obverse bears not the usual profile but a three-quarter view of the President. The reverse features a sculptured rendering of a crewelwork pattern of the Great Seal of the United States, embroidered by President Nixon's daughter, Julie, as an election-night surprise. Beneath the Seal is the wording: "To RN - JN." "
I'm not an inuaugural medal afficionado; just found this to be a well-executed portrait in bronze. . .

There are no words to describe the brutality inflicted on inmates at Parchman Farm. The following article mainly addresses the mistreatment of the Freedom Riders of the Civil Rights Movement who were imprisoned there.
I'm ambivalent about assembling this set.

Luzianne Tea 5˘ Token - circa late 1930's. Brass, 32mm. Also struck in aluminum, although much rarer.

In 1902, William B. Reily relocated his wholesale grocery business from Monroe, Louisiana, to New Orleans and shifted his focus to specialize in blending, packaging and distributing coffee and tea. It was the birth of the LuzianneŽ brand.

In the 1930s, recognizing the popularity of iced tea as a way to beat the heat, Mr. Reily created a new blend that maintained its flavor, color and clarity when poured over ice. Our now-famous LuzianneŽ Iced Tea was one of the first teas ever blended specially for iced tea.
