Looks like they hit the REV side with a sledge hammer to put it that deep!

I agree. Wish I knew how they do the double sided ones like this. The design is perfectly lined up on both sides. Must have some sort of contraption that holds the obverse against that die then the die that is struck is swung into a predetermined spot directly above the other.

Did that make any sense? Lol.

It does seem that whatever method they use does both sides at the same time, wit the primary direction of force coming into the reverse.
