A 5 franc piece just acquired today, 37 mm in diameter. The photos don't particularly highlight the fact that the strike is at least semi-prooflike.





I especially like the accurate depiction of a Vetterli rifle on the reverse.

If you are going to collect Swiss coins,
get yourself a copy of
Catalogue des Monnaies Swiss Coin Catalog
(covers from 1797 to date, all Swiss and Liechtenstein coins and banknotes, including all schutzenthalers)
My copy used, second hand from my LCS.

Here are a few of the classic Swiss 5 Franc commemorative coins in my collection. Though my scanned images make the coins appear dull and washed out, each of the coins is actually fully brilliant with terrific luster.
