Another example of the RAREST Victorian variety just got slabbed.

Population: 2 (both mine)

(ok...maybe the 1898 reeded edge is rarer)

I have my doubts about that one being the rarest... how many 1881H single serif N's have you found?

I would have to agree with SPP-Ottawa. I think the 1881-H single serif N's is rarer. I still hope to find one of those someday.

But congrats CV on finding another triple 1882-H. That's a very nice find!!

I, too, think that the 1881 is the scarcer of the two and one of the toughest cent varieties to ever find. I was lucky enough to find two .. one I gave away to a friend since we worked together and I know where the other is. I just wish that, 20 years ago, I would have looked harder for them ... it was maybe 8-10 years ago I found my last one and that was still well before we put out the 2011 Charlton's.

I have no knowledge to add to the discussion amongst friendly experts ... simply suggesting I'm interested in the topic and want to see some photos!

That one is a fun variety for sure. I am aware of at least 3 others not slabbed.

I think in another thread we counted as many as 10...

The 1881h Single serif is rarer...

Was the triple 1882H known before Randy mentioned it on the boards?
