Hi, everyone. I need your expert opinions on this coin. Hi, Crazyb0, I am learning from your pdf files & that of coop. I am trying to be a good student of this wonderful hobby. I know it will take some time for me to learn.
Is there a DDO on this coin? I found several of these in bank rolls.

My apologies for the low grade pix.

Thank you all for your words of wisdom.

I believe this is Die Deterioration, not a DDO. I don't see any notching or extra thickness on the lower parts of the letters I, N, and O like on the DDOs of this era. I also see die flow lines below the word GOD, this shows that your coin is an LDS and Die Deterioration is likely.

Thanks, Tanman2001. What is LDS? If I may ask, can DDO be likened to a new shirt & DDD be likened to an old shirt? In one of the books that I read, DDD was at times called 'poor man's doubled die' like silver as 'poor man's gold.' Oh well, too much to learn...thanks, again.

LDS means Late Die State, a coin that is LDS shows die wear as the die used to make the coin struck many many before it.
There are a few topics here that discuss LDS:

If you see "Poor Man's Doubled Die" it is NOT a doubled die. I really hate that term. Too many newbies are tricked by that misnomer, I wish people would stop using it. A "poor man's" is just Die Deterioration NOT a doubled die.

Sosicoin, the big doubling on the 39P nickel is a DDR, on MONTICELLO, and is quite obvious of one. To help understand Deterioration and late die states, read what I wrote here for Moxking's contest:
