More a win than a find. We had a 3 coin society meeting yesterday (Auckland, Tauranga and Waikato) and I won the quiz prize and the so did my club - Auckland, but my prize was this piece of Kiwi/Aussie entente

a 1990 joint $5 coin set for Anzac (The first Anzac coin collectible issued by either country).

A nice little surprise and Australia's 2nd $5 coin and New Zealand's first.
Loving Halfcrowns. British and Commonwealth coins 1750 - 1950 and anything Kiwi.
If it's round, shiny and silvery I will love it.

Hi All, I am not having much joy in noodling any 2019 coins. Plenty of dollars but other denominations are eluding me. I have stack of alphabet letters if anyone wants to trade.

Not really noodled but finally bought after a long time.

High AU/Low UNC and bright UNC! Score!

Some nice finds and PT - the coronation is always a nice hole filler, no matter how it was obtained.

Thanks DG, almost did not get them, took 3 and a half weeks to travel 600km due to the sender getting my address, name and several other things wrong. Had to invoke Trade Me, and there was customs tape on the letter!

Fortunately the coins were fine. Except I have 2 of them, only need one, may sell the other.

Along with 20c bag I also grabbed a bag of 500 $1. On the way home I could see lots of shiny coins so assumed they were recent mintages. I realised this was not the case when I started noodling the contents. It was one of those "What the heck?" moments. Of the 500 coins, 247 were commemoratives. Has anyone had this ratio of commemoratives before? Furthermore, many of the coins (including the commemoratives) were high lustre with quite a few bordering UNC. A new collector could have pretty well completed the commemoratives with nice coins from this one batch.

On the downside, I have heaps of bills this month so didn't want to keep too many coins. But how can I throw these beauties back into circulation?
As a further downside, I did return some of the coins. My contact at the CBA said they had a bunch of $5 coins handed in while I was on holidays but another collector has nabbed them while I was away.

Nice haul David,
I guess you will have to keep a few of each and toss the other back, especially the 43 x 2005 coins.

Yes sometimes but depends.

As for $5 dollar don't worry about it they haven't grow in value for the past 30 year. Definitely think some people have hoarded too many of these for them to increase significantly. But who know about the future.
