Many of us abhor the 1964 nickel because it so common in circulation.

But it have an error, where, due to die over-polishing, the B became a D, so
the motto became E PLURIDUS UNUM.

Anybody else know about this variety? I heard about it about 40 years ago and have always remembered it.

Once, just for kicks, I kept all of the 1964 nickels from 3 or 4 boxes, with the goal of filling a whole bunch of rolls with them, and marking them "OLD NICKELS DO NOT SPEND". Then spending them.

Anyway, I searched all ~400 of them and didn't find a single PLURIDUS.

Did a search here on CCF for Pluridus. The link includes pics of one someone on the forum found/posted.

Thx @earle42, I missed that thread the first time around. Never heard of this previously!

I wish so bad that I had a PLURIDUS nickel. I have heard of them and seen an image. It is in my saved searches on eBay for years.
Consider yourself lucky finding one.
