Do you still get a quarterly dividend check from Disney? Everything was pretty much electronic when I started investing so I have never seen a live stock certificate.

I don't have much to post but I do enjoy looking at all the certificates you have posted in this thread and others.

It all goes into the dividend reinvestment plan. So I have another 20 shares now, but those only exist electronically.

Merrill Lynch is one that most folks have probably heard of, if they've done any investing. It's got a neat NYC skyline vignette with a view from Liberty Island. Back when the twin towers were still standing.

I can't show you my Qwest Communications certificate, because I had to send it in to sell it when Qwest was bought by Century Link. Quite a while later, I learned that somehow I still had one share of Century Link, but they insist it wasn't a mistake. I've been getting a quarterly dividend check for 52, which just changed to about 25 after the recent dividend cut. Mailing the dividend costs them more than the dividend.

Their fee for selling the share back to them was a large portion of the value of the share, so I've kept it. The way the stock's been doing, the fee might even be more than the value of the share. Recently I missed some deadline to sell it back for no fee under some program to scoop up odd lots.

This is a company that long ago was (part of a company with) a household name, but kept changing that name to less and less of a household name with all the mergers and changes in the aftermath of the breakup of TPC in the 1980's.

What is TPC? It's revealed at the end of the oddball James Coburn movie, "The President's Analyst."

Here's one I missed. I think every boy born before 1980 will be familiar with the name Lionel...

If you've heard of L&M cigarettes, here's where the name originated - Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co. As I was thumbing through my stocks I realized there are a number of tobacco companies, so I might start a separate thread on those.

@gregalex, on your certificate the lady is holding a caduceus-used as a symbol of medicine. This is not what we think now when we think of Tobacco!

Lionel - I saw only one Lionel 'O' gauge train set as a kid in Australia.

U.S. servicemen in Germany in the 1950's and 1960's brought Marklin train sets home for their sons.

I was a Markiln kid - better quality than British Hornby at the time.
