Went to the bank to buy a box of cents and ended up with some hand rolled 50 cent tubes. The first tube opened and out popped this 1994 P Roosevelt copper dime. It weighs 225gms and rings of nothing but copper when dropped on glass. Cool to find this little beauty.

Looks like Environmental Damage. I don't think this is an error coin, just damage.

Even with it ringing like an pre 82 Lincoln cent when dropped and the weights are identical? Educate me my friend because I have seen quite a few of these that appear to be copper but doesn't ring when dropped. What am I missing?!!?

Jim, it's a normal Dime. There's no Copper exposed. It's just Environment toning and staining.

You know a lot more about these things than I do. Thank my friend for telling me what I'm seeing! That one goes in the memory bank!
