Superb example 52Raymo! US Patterns says it's normally a weakly struck pattern:

I think it might grade out as high as PR45 personally, but worried it may get dinged "details" for cleaning - albeit, an old one.

Is this the first version of " Flying Eagle cent"? It began to be minted only in 1856. It must be very expensive.

Thanks everyone. Slerk I know there was an 1854 pattern coin produced. Been on the lookout for one.

An 1854 would look nice next to that one 52Raymo! That would be Judd 164.

Also this one is pretty cool No Date on it. Judd 179

That's a beauty of a cent! FECs are amazing coins to look at, a pattern even better. Superb example.

Slerk - This is a pattern, not a regular issue, so the same valuation issues don't really apply.
