France: 1 livre Louis XV, "de la Compagnie des Indes". A somewhat odd coin, in pure silver instead of the regular 917/1000 used for French silver coins at this time. Minted for a short period in 1720 only. Considerably smaller than the magnificent Úcus from the period, but with its own charm.

Would this have been a trade coin? For overseas use only?
