Mooie jeton! Fanstastisch!!

And we know there are more to enjoy over the coming weeks.

Here is a 1652 Lithuanian silver solidus from the reign of Jan Casimir. I think we may see more of these today.

thanks for your comments @ joecoin and @ tdziemia, dank je wel @Petrus

the latin translation is a good start, but I still do not get the meaning of the legend 100%

some more jetons will follow, but not so much as I collect mainly silver coins in a very narrow time window in a very small area of the World

Spectacular coin! Thanks for sharing.
Interesting that Christina claimed to also be queen of Poland-Lithuania at the same time that Jan Casimir claimed to be King of Sweden in addition to Poland-Lithuania. Just a little Vasa family squabble inherited from their parents (her father, Gustavus Adolphus, was an adversry of Sigismund III of Poland, despite being first cousins).
It's easy to forget that Sweden was one of the major powers in 17th century Europe. They colonized Delaware and Pennsylvania 50 years before William Penn founded the english-speaking colony, and even today you can visit Old Swedes' church in Philadelphia, and watch rowers practicing on the Christina river near Wilmington, Delaware.

@t360: you post a beautiful 1652 rixdaler of Queen Christina of Sweden !

if the portrait posted together with the coin preceded the coins and may have influenced mint master of the rixdalers, perhaps the following thread is of interest for posting as example :
http://goccf.com/t/336420

below is a 1651 jeton featuring king on horseback, wearing a John Wayne cowboy hat, the ideal powerful leader needed to protect the Spanish empire

the reverse betrays the meaning of this jeton: longing for peace with France: two hands holding the staff of Mercurius and ears of wheat PAX QVERITVR ARMIS (for peace you need a strong army)

in a nutshell (as always that is what these jetons try to convey): Spain is prepared to negotiate for peace only on basis of its strong military position
