Palo Alto: Collectible coins litter roadway after interrupted burglary

A stretch of Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto briefly was littered with hundreds of collectible coins early Saturday as suspects fled in a vehicle from an interrupted store burglary, police said.

Police responded at 2:36 a.m. to a silent alarm activation at The Coin Broker at Town & Country Village shopping center and observed several men standing in front of the store, which was closed. They ran as soon as they saw the officers, but the officers used their vehicles to block two of the suspects from escaping. They were detained without further incident, according to a police statement.

I'm so sick and tired of these habitual criminals menacing our streets. We need to stiffen their sentences & build more prisons. Most all of these criminals don't even deserve to breath the same air that we breath.

Always terrible to hear about a burglary, but I am glad to read that something positive happened for once.

Unfortunately in that area the SAPS have a bad habit of slapping them on the wrist the first twenty or so times they get busted. But possibly one day they will shoot and kill someone then they will lock them up for a few years. You should try living in the bay area.
