Great example, Dorado!

The Giralda in Seville, on a Spanish 25-peseta coin. Formerly the minaret of the city's main mosque, it became the bell-tower of the Cathedral after the Christian Reconquest:

Here's the Giralda as photographed by me from Seville's Santa Justa train station in 2007:

Potsdam Garrison Church on a German 1935-A 5-Mark coin:

The church was built in 1732 as the parish church of the Prussian Royal Family. Bach played the church organ, and the tower with its ring of bells was a notable landmark. I can't post my own photo of it, as it wasn't there when I visited Potsdam in 1991! The church was burnt out in an air raid during World War II. After the War, it was partially restored, but was demolished in 1968 by the Communist East German Government who saw it as a symbol of Prussian militarism and also of the Nazis, who had planned to use the church as a parliament building after the Reichstag fire.

As with the Frauenkirche in Dresden, there has been pressure since 1989 to rebuild this lost architectural treasure, and work started in 2017 on a replica of the original church. This has provoked protests from those who view the church as the birthplace of the Third Reich.
