Back in 2005, the Royal Canadian Mint ( RCM) issued a $10 silver commemorative coin to mark the Year of the Veteran. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II; the commemorative reverse depicts two veterans in profile - a young Canadian veteran (rear portrait) with that of an older veteran to illustrate that "Bravery and self-sacrifice define Canada's heroes of the past, present and future." ( RCM Annual Report 2005)

Both of the veterans are wearing hats (berets).

Here's a previous discussion of the coin: 2005 - Year of the Veteran $10.

Here's one from 2014. It was issued by the Royal Canadian Mint ( RCM) as a commemorative for the 75th anniversary of the 1939 Royal Visit.

King George VI and Queen Elizabeth visited Canada from May 17, 1939 through June 15, 1939. King George often wore a military uniform, including hat, when making public appearances. Queen Elizabeth is also shown wearing a hat on the coin.

The coin was struck on a 0.9999 fine silver planchet in what the RCM describes as ultra high relief (UHR) - I can verify that the devices on the coin are definitely in higher relief than those on coins with a standard strike. The coin carries a $25 denomination.

I previously did a full post on this coin here: 2014 Royal Visit 75th Anniversary.
