I've seen this coin up for auction a few times and it always goes unsold. The price is $49.99 and is offered by a local dealer. Of coarse, I offered him a lower price and he won't take it.

Question, even at the asking price, I think it's a great deal. Don't these sell for over $100 in this condition (fully silvered) or am I missing something. I'm fairly certain it's genuine.

To me it looks like it has been recently re-silvered.

Hi Travelcoin

I agree that it is likely silvered in modern time. I have an example of original silvering diocletian coin. Notice the "flecky" breaks in silvering that can happen naturally over the years under ground conditions.

Hmmm what about the deposits on the coin? I think I'm going to have to take a drive over and examine again.
