I've seen this coin up for auction a few times and it always goes unsold. The price is $49.99 and is offered by a local dealer. Of coarse, I offered him a lower price and he won't take it.
Question, even at the asking price, I think it's a great deal. Don't these sell for over $100 in this condition (fully silvered) or am I missing something. I'm fairly certain it's genuine.
I agree that it is likely silvered in modern time. I have an example of original silvering diocletian coin. Notice the "flecky" breaks in silvering that can happen naturally over the years under ground conditions.
