I have had this 2001 D LMC put back for a while because the word LIBERTY is different than ones that I have seen. I do know of no 2001 D LMC's listed as a DDO although many are DDR's. The date and mintmark may have a little extra thickness but the word LIBERTY is what intrigued me enough to post about. There seems to be extra thickness in a couple of the letters especially the letter T. There appears to be a rounded notch at the bottom right serif on the horizontal bar. Thoughts?

Looks pretty normal to me. That year the devices were a bit thick.

Some were thicker than others, I most definitely agree. I think the rounded notching is what had me question it as I haven't seen one like it.

Here is a side by side with a normal coin:

I think it may have flattened a bit in circulation.

On the 2001-2003 cents the devices were normal looking wider. I spend very little time on them because of that. When you think you have something, then make a side by side and realize those years got you again. Best thing to is the enclosed devices.
