Quote: Over four days in Paris I picked up three coins from the street - a one eurocent, a two eurocents and a five eurocents. None filled in any gaps in my collection! Quote: good eye, NumisRob. the finds might not always be great, but it is great 'training' for the eyes; i'll come back to that in a minute. I rarely find euro coins, but I do find them and I'm always surprised. I most likely have a bunch of pictures of them. I think I've found euros from germany, france, italy, ireland and greece (and maybe other countries) in key west parking lots over the past 7+ years, usually at a grocery store, laundromat or gas station. well, I only picked ninety-one cents tonight, but I also picked these two one cent euros from an ice machine coin return, oddly enough:

i picked just seventy-six cents tonight, including a tidy pile of forty-two cents atop a winn-dixie garbage can: ...while at the publix parking lot a little while later I spotted what appeared to be a quarter, but was actually this nearly-weightless aluminum coin, costa rican 10 colones, equivalent of approximately two US cents:

tonight I picked exactly $1 in well-scattered change. I didn't think it was going to happen. I had hot dog cart duty tonight, a rare thursday night hot dog gig. I had eighty-nine cents in my pocket as I was on my way home from downtown at 2am. I was looking everywhere for just a bit more and found it at the dairy queen: a dime and a zincoln. this is the 13th night this month of at least a dollar found. I'm not keeping track of it the way I used to, but I'm pretty sure that I've picked at least $30 so far this month and I'm pretty sure that this month has been the best month in many months. the jar is filling up.
