I am surprised no one has informed you that a "cud" must involve the rim. Therefore, most of what you have posted are called "die chips."

Those are US rules.

Here in Australia any lumps of metal (or Die chips) in odd places are referred to as cuds, and it's been that way for a looooong time.

Rim cuds here usually only involve the rim.
A friend is a present you give to yourself.

Thanks Mrcruise...it seems that obverse cuds are most prominent after about 2012....I went through $120 of 50 cents tonight, and kept 10 coins. Sadly I'm on the road, so no photos. I would like to say, though, I kept 10, and threw some back. All lip and chin cuds, and only 1 hairline.
