I found this 1993 D LMC today and while everything tells me MD I cannot figure out the mint mark. Its hard to see in the photos but there is a slight split at the bottom left hand side. It isn't shelf like you would see in most MD'd coins as this is on the devise itself. It cannot be an RPM as these mint marks were built into the die itself. The three tells me MD but I am a little stumped as this doesn't appear to be of the high bounce type of MD. I believe its MD'd but want confirmation as I haven't run across one quite like this one.

Best I could do Grapes, it just shows a little extra thickness, no separation or MD. David, I definitely took a hard look at that possibility of the mint mark being damaged and if it is it follows a perfect curvature at the bottom like pic 4 shows. It isn't flattened in the center of the devise like most zinc rot cents we see. I am perplexed because I haven't seen this before on a cent after 1989.

One thing about it, its either something or nothing!

I do see some similarities. Now the question is, do I send it in?

There is actually more going on with this DDO. (Yes DDO, not a RPM)

Is there extra thickness on the other devices? Maybe notching?

There is no notching on any other devise. This has to be MD but it's the most perplexing one that I have seen.
