Statcounter.com is a real-time visitor analytics plugin. I use the same thing for my website. Much better than google analytics which I also use.

OK, you tech heads, what is a "visitor analytics plugin"? I'm sorry, you must be laughing at me.

You asked what it was, Frog. I answered your question. It is helpful to identify nefarious trolls, bots, spammers and hackers. Also it helps greatly with SEO.... understanding what terms folks are googling and which landing pages they are coming into the site from.

Mr. Frog, in addition to what MikeE said, these kinds of analytics tools show you who's visiting your web site, where they're coming from, what kind of browser they're using, what page(s) they are visiting, etc. All kinds of great data that can help you determine the best user experience, drive sales/clicks, etc.

Quote: Also it helps greatly with SEO.... Yup, there's a reason we average having a visitor come here from a search engine every 1.2 seconds. The internet is definitely not a "Build it and they will come" venture.

Hey Bobby, I meant to tell you. You might want to check out Inmotion hosting. I made the switch about 6 months ago and they've been great. Https is free with a hosting plan and they offer unlimited phone support. I broke my website trying to edit the footer a couple months ago and they had it fixed within a half hour OVER THE PHONE!

I appreciate the tip, however my host is a classic asp God and very easy to deal with. Plus we outgrew shared hosting many years ago. Way too many concurrent users for shared hosting. Below is the visitors right now and that's lunchtime on a work day. I've seen it over 200K. Also, moving this joint is no easy task. Our database alone is over 8 gigabyte.
