Confusing...not really, just challenging. Very challenging. Questions are done, so get your guess in. I say go for 1565, any guess will put us at covering 4 of 6 choices. Come on chafe, throw your hat in and cover the 5th.

I think coins from this time period, the 16th and 17th Centuries, are especially difficult because of the myriad issuing authorities. As time went on, territories became more consolidated and so the number of places issuing coins goes down dramatically. In this game, you have to make some assumptions and a starting point for date range is one. I would guess that the majority of the coins we own are from the 19th and 20th Centuries, so we usually start there. The further back we have to go, the more questions we have to use to get there and that's what has happened recently with Keith's lovely coins. To avoid just taking shots in the dark, weight has to be given to what is most likely. Unfortunately, Keith seems to have a lot of unlikely coins.

I was going to guess this coin is a 1964-D Jefferson nickel, but upon further reflection decided to ask some questions first. Was this coin minted in Eurasia?
