If you consider Saar to be its own "country" it's population is about 1 million and the mintage figure is not greater than the population therefore this coin must be a trial strike.... If this coin is from Saar...
or Saarland with an "n"

Since the GM is not going to provide us with a summary I will attempt to do so. This coin does NOT contain a precious metal. This coin was issued in Europe 55th parallel north circle of latitude does NOT pass through the country of issue (This eliminates Germany, Denmark, Russia, UK, Ireland, Lithuania, Belarus) The mintage figure of this coin is NOT greater than the current population of the country of issue The population of the country of issue is NOT 10 million or more (This eliminates France, Italy, Spain, Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Rep, Greece, Portugal, Sweden) The mintage of this coin is less than 10 million The country of issue has an "n" in its English name This coin was NOT issued by Vatican City or San Marino This coin was NOT issued before World War II and NOT issued in 21st century. i.e. Issued 1939-2000 This coin was minted for use in or by a German entity. (Remember Germany has already been eliminated) The denomination of this coin is in "Franken"

Oh boy, sorta active here while I was sleeping... Thanks OzLeigh, I was considering a summary of sorts myself... I actually consider Saarland in the 1950s up to its absorption back into Germany in 1959 its own separate country. Hence some yes and no (both correct) answers. These Saar coins were "minted" in Paris (hence the privy marks), France (the country on the list), then shipped over to be circulated "issued" amongst the region of Saar (in Germany, the other country). 14.) Is this coin a pattern or trial strike? No Quote: Something is very wrong You said it Keith12

You nailed it trig. . Here we go....."back on track" is a clue. Railroad coin maybe, race track....let's not forget it as we go. I so want to just ask if it's a rock, but better stick with a date..... Was this "something"/(rock) around half a century ago?
