All right, another $25 down and some more coins pulled from circulation. I am happy to say that I have found my second Indian Head cent, dated 1896! Even though I only found a total of 6 wheats in this box, the Indian Head cent made up for the meager results. I will continue this hunt with another $50 in pennies I will have coming in tommorow. Thanks for the support. Totals below as always.

@james, I find this an interesting and fun project. In my mind, the statistics are quite interesting, because I love statistics, especially if others are doing the work to generate them.

There are not many countries where this can be done, due to the change of currency/ inflation. In Canada, due to the alloy recovery program and the removal of the 1 cent coin, almost all the older interesting stuff is gone.

At your current rate, you will be completed approximately 1 year from the date you started.

All right, well another $50 in pennies down and only 12 wheat cents recovered :(. I am dissapointed with this recovery rate and I am going to continue to find ways to change this rate. I think I will set up an account at B of A or at Wells Fargo because, of the boxes I have looked through, those seem to be the best in terms of wheat cents found. Thanks for the continued support!

Scott_holmes, good luck on your next box. Hopefully it will go well. Keeping hopping around different banks, if you need to.

Scott Holmes,

I am blown away by the fact that you have already found two IHC in circulation. Keep up the good work!

And I agree, CRH is not for profit, but for adventure.

I am only a teenager, but I just biked around to 8 different banks, most of them not related, without an account at any of them, and asked them for their pennies. I got about $100 in pennies, in 1 hour, without an account. Might have only worked because I am younger, but if you are nice, they might not require an account to give you pennies.

Another $30 down and another 9 wheat pennies added to the pile, along with some new foreign coins. I'm going to continue my search, as I should have another $100 arriving by way of order tommorow. Please stay tuned!
