Here's a 1904 50 Centesimos piece struck for Panama. The coin was struck by the US Mint in Philadelphia (no mint mark) on a 0.900 fine silver planchet with a weight of 25.0 grams and a diameter of 38.1 mm. Its diameter is the same as a US Morgan silver dollar, but its weight is slightly less (26.73 grams vs. 25.0 grams total weight; 0.7734 troy ounces actual silver weight (ASW) - Morgan silver dollar vs. 0.7234 troy ounces - Panama 50C).

A left-facing portrait of Vasco Núñez de Balboa is seen on the coin's obverse. Balboa was a Spanish explorer and conquistador. In 1513, he was the first European (along with those in his expedition party) to cross the isthmus of Panama and reach the Pacific Ocean.

The coin's reverse features the Coat-of-Arms of Panama. There are seven stars seen above the Arms on the reverse, they are representative of the seven provinces of Panama circa 1904; they were Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí, Coclé, Colón, Los Santos, Panamá and Veraguas. In 2021, Panama is officially comprised of ten provinces (Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí, Coclé, Colón, Darién, Herrera, Los Santos, Panamá, Panamá Oeste and Veraguas) and three indigenous peoples regions, termed comarcas indígenas, (Emberá, Guna Yala and Ngäbe-Buglé) that are considered to be at the province level. Other indigenous regions in the country are not presently considered to be at the full province level.

@NumisRob: Unusual denomination - thanks for posting!

FWIW: The six stars on each side of the coin represent the six islands that made up the Netherlands Antilles in 1979: Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius and Sint Maarten (the southern part of the island of Saint Martin).

The Coat of Arms (COA) on the obverse of the coin was used from 1964 until January 1, 1986 when Aruba separated from the Netherlands Antilles, the COA was subsequently revised to include just five stars. The Netherlands Antilles, as a whole, was dissolved on October 10, 2010, though all of the islands remain part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
