The coin itself looks authentic. I would look at the edge near the three on the date for possible push-up. It looks like there is a depression there. At least take a look.

I looked at the edge with a magnifier and don't see any metal displacement other than the aforementioned hits. There is a scratch across the 3. I was trying to find my microscope with no luck.

This isn't my coin BTW. It is part of an estate that I was asked to review. To be honest I didnt expect much because the other items are rather ordinary.

Continued comments are appreciated.

I know the family wants to liquidate the coins. What suggestions would the community have regarding this coin? Should she be graded / authenticated? Auction house? I have absolutely no experience in that area.

F-15

This coin needs to be graded IMO. After that, maybe Heritage or Great collections will auction it. I've never auctioned a coin before so I'm not much help in that area either.

Appreciate the advice, everyone. Good to have folks in the know to help out.

I'm investigating the "package deal" from Heritage involving grading and selling. Also, I want to take this coin to my next club meeting since there are a couple of Morgan specialists regularly attending.

Looks authentic in these photos. Might pull a VF-20 and absolutely needs to be in a TPG holder to get the best price.

Continued advice is appreciated. Thanks to all.

I received a reply from Heritage after contacting them. They asked for a photo and then offered to buy it. Is that their usual routine? I thought they only took consignments?

Also heard back from Great Collections. They are interested in auctioning the coin as well.

I went on both sites for a look around and noticed a good number of '93S Morgans for sale already. Is this normal? Maybe we should wait until there are fewer up for auction.

Edited for spelling

Check for the rabbit ears in the R and the slash in the T in LIBERTY. VF 20 - the coin looks like it has had an old cleanings.

Looks authentic in the VF range to me.

BTW, you're better off posting separate pictures of the obverse and reverse. That way each photo can have its own 300KB limit and you can post larger pictures
