Early morning low light, took this pic of my new to me clipped 1973
Nickel, saw the shadow showed a double clip, happy camper for $8. I
have the 1973 Quarter clipped as well, am now looking for the full
set. Two Blakesleys for the price of one.

How long you been here? You put your coins in direct sunlight?

I know you have electricity up there. Nice coins despite the pictures!

USSID18 - you can read my profile for info on how long I've been here, like my title said actual sunlight touched these cupro nickel circulated coins. Not sure if I totally wrecked them by having them out of the 2x2's for 15 minutes to shoot some photos. Yah way up north here, we wait for the daylight for picture taking, which in summer is nearly 24 hours, outside our igloos.

The shadow shows the double clip, that was my point.

You meant pure nickel coins... another thing that is different from our southern neighbours, and even more resistant to photochemical reaction.

That should not be too hard for the 1c and 10c denominations. I suspect finding a 1973 clipped 50-cent will be the toughest one, with the nickel dollar being almost equally as tough. I have only ever found rim clips from 1973 in the nickel dollar series.

CCF member Scissel has a really nice set of "around the clock" 1973 clipped 25c coins, I recall he even made a nice GIF file showing this. Perhaps he can post it here (if he sees this).

I see George Manz sold the clipped 1973 Cent and Dime for affordable prices,
the 50 Cent I am searching on line and seeing not much. The Nickel dollar clip
would be the white whale.

Errers and Varietys - I found it on sale at Colonial Acres

The 1973 cased silver dollar clip would be the white whale... I have a 1972 silver dollar with a clip, so it can happen... and one might be out there somewhere...
