I get it. Wexler has determined that there are a number of working hub doubled coins and separated them out on his site. This has not been done nor addressed on VarietyVista with all still listed as doubled dies.

So one would assume that Wiles still considers them as DDO since they have not been changed. One would apparently be wrong.

The exact wording I got back on this coin is:

"Wexler calls these a WHO and Coppercoins has 22 listed in their files, so I am inclined to agree with him. This one does not appear to match any of the dies I have listed in the CONECA files."

So, it's a new one to CONECA, but doesn't get listed because, without any note anywhere saying such, Wiles does not believe what he has listed are doubled dies?

Anyway, another one denied this time for being an apparent WHO, which I may or may not agree with as I can't really tell the WHO doubling from some of the ones Wexler still has listed as real DDOs.

1989 Lincoln Memorial cent DDO or WHO (as in WHO knows)

One of the greatest things about numismatic or exonumic collectors is that they have a never ending variety of goals to pursue, or even no goals at all.

One of the best things about this forum is that the very large majority of us do our very best to encourage everyone to enjoy their own paths.

I must admit that I tried my hand at varieties and errors for many, many years. It was impossible to translate the hours spent to a meaningful outcome.

I was driven away from E & V when microscopic billboard size photographs became the norm, rather than the exception.

Enjoy your quest. I always enjoy your posts.

But perhaps some of the difficulty you are experiencing in getting your finds accepted has to do with a pull back by those cataloguers from ever more minute differentiation.

I pretty much feel the same way as mox, which is why I pretty much give away any small errors I find.

It looks an awful lot like my 89 DDO-003.
