I was born in 2000 and I get the reference.
Currently interested in buying 1957 and earlier Russian and Soviet coins. Let me know if you have any and we can hook up a deal!

Just found this thread. Was reading through and thought of an old thread I made showing how I solved the Dansco-no-pull-out-slides-easily problem mentioned in this thread:
http://goccf.com/t/140384

Simple fix.
- When I value " being right" more than what IS right, I am then right...a fool.
- How much squash could a Sasquatch squash if a Sasquatch would squash squash?
- Prosp long and liver.

That's a great fix for Dansco. After using the albums for over a year, I'm going to update my grading.

1) Dansco are still the best albums out there! They are well built and durable. They have some minor issues but overall still the best (if you can find it)
2) Littleton moves up to 2, for one major reason, they are better built than Whitman.
3) Whitman moves down to 3 and I'm serious tempted to not get any more. The major issue is the quality. Several pages are losing the blue. This started on the walking liberties but I've seen on pages that have heavy coins. They still have lots of good features but be careful with the blue pages coming apart. I would be reluctant to recommend them based on my experience. I haven't changed any albums but I can't say the Whitman albums will last long term.

hjfacinto, I have plenty of your #3 ranked Whitman albums and while I really do like them, I agree with you, they're not the quality of Dansco. I like the look of silver coins against the blue and I like the embossed text labels vs. Dansco's script. I do have a couple of albums with pages that are delaminating at the corners from a bit too much flipping through and enjoying. I generally use Whitmans for "from circulation" collections. Expandable via Chicago Post rivets for page binding.

Due to their superior quality I have a number of Danscos for the sets I am using for "proof & MS" albums. I like that you can get dust covers for these and that they use Chicago post rivets for page binding so that you can add pages. I don't like that there isn't a thumb-notch to ease in removing/positioning the acetate slides.

I do have one unused Littleton that I received for free. I like the metal grommets they employ to reinforce the page holes. This is especially good on the album I have given it's an ASE album and the pages can get *heavy* when well-populated. I like the green color as well. Don't necessarily care for the "snap binder" page binding.

Bottom line: I like them all.

I have both Dansco and Whitman Albums. I'm having trouble reading the labels in my Whitman dime album. Thinking or using a label maker to relabel the dimes. That's just annoying.
