And now we're out of the safe European territory and into the danger zone of Islamic whatevers.

I legitimately have no idea what the triangular heck this is.



16x15 mm, 2.59 grams.

Alas, the side on the second pic is half gone (planchet flaw?) and off-center, and while the other side isn't as much off-center, the part opposite the half-gone area is bulged up (dunno why) and barely readable.
If it becomes important, I might try to make a photo that brings out the bulged-up area better. But I don't think there's much to see on it one way or another.

I do not dispute your expertise, but just in case - what is this attribution based on?

Because I don't think my coin looks that much like the one Zeno example, but I might just be looking in the wrong places.

The basic inscriptions are the same: al-sultan/ al-a'zam/ abu'l fateh// Muhammad bin/ al-sultan/ [Takish]. There are some differences in decorative pellets, etc and the last line on reverse isn't legible. Tye 284 is probably closer to your coin.
