...did they sell out?

The coin is not supposed to have a mintage limit, so it seems likely that it is more of the situation suggested by bzookaj (i.e., current production supply is exhausted) vs. it being totally sold out. More should become available.

Of course, it could also just be a glitch in the ordering system!

I'm guessing it's the former. Although, what if they did sell out of current supplies and aren't able to make anymore for the rest of the year because another COVID spike and those that didn't get in are doomed?!?!

Then I'm glad I'm getting two.

I got the shipping notice. Looks like they're going all the way USPS First Class Mail instead of Smartpost with USPS doing the final mile. Anybody else being shipped the same?

Over 98,000 W's sold on day one. That would explain the temporary out of stock issue

Where do you find these numbers for US Mint sales?

Maybe there are speculators hoping the mint will unexpectedly terminate sales. I think it is possible with a packed production schedule and pandemic uncertainties still looming large.

so it looks like the W is selling out as soon as any become available. I have yet to see them listed as available on the mint's production schedule page. I understand the mint may be releasing more as they can, but with supply/demand being what it is now I wonder how many they'll be able to make & release for sale. the Ws' production/sales figures have been falling in recent years, as has been discussed in other threads. I'm really just wondering how many they'll be able to produce. I guess we wait n see, but according to an article I just looked at dated (or updated on) may 31, the production number for the new W, year to date, as of may 17 is 135,040. it says little else about that figure, other than some notes on the pandemic & it's effect on the mint & production.

Except it wasn't released until July 8th
