to the CCF! It's a pressed or hammered coin. Someone tried to make it look like an error by placing other coins on top and squeezing or hammering them, or even used a metal press.
The first US coin motto was found on a 1792 half disme and read: "LIB (erty) PAR (ent) OF SCIENCE & INDUSTRY"

Note all the devices are mirrored, thus transferred from another coin If there were from being struck three times, the devices would be layered and normal and raised and not incuse.

@Str8leo, welcome to CCF. Despite this not being an error coin, I'm glad to hear that you and your husband are working on this coin stuff together.

Also, when you see that the lettering , and numbers are backwards, usually a good indication that is someone trying to mimic an error coin.

Str8leo to CCF! That's a nice sample coin to remind you of when you see a real, nice triple struck nickel. Enjoy the coin hobby....

Also notice from the picture that Coop posted that the second strikes pretty much wipe out the details from the first strike. This isn't the case with the OP coin. With the OP coin it's the second strikes that are weak and lacking in detail.
