Series 2017 A - Anyone Have Any Info?

I'm a Where's Georger who wanted to know the reason for the 2017A series. Googled and found this forum. Thanks - I'm learning a lot!

If it's just a seemingly unnecessary change in the ink, then the question is: who is profiting from the ink change? Did a bid go to an ink manufacturer who happens to be a Secretary of the Treasury crony? That seems to be the M.O. of this administration: diverting funds to friends.

I am brand spanking new here, so please be gentle...I found 2 twenty dollar bills with an A after the date. I've never seen this before so Google to the rescue and here I am. I basically want to know if these are something to hold on to, could become valuable one day for my kids or grandkids, or are they not that big of a deal? One is a 2017a and the other is 2004a but other than that I don't know identifying mint marks or numbers or any of that. I tend to hold on to $2 bills and star notes, silver certificates and 'old' money in general. Any advice is welcome.



And I just noticed after posting this, that I have a 2017a $100 bill!
