Love all the above coins - especially that 5 Pengo of Hungary.

1939 was a very quiet year for New Zealand coins compared to the 1940s.

There was no bronze coins and only the Sixpence and Threepence were issued dated 1939.

2 million 3d's were issued (Mainly as they were heavily used and my guess is many were lost given how tiny and fiddly they were)

700k only of Sixpences. The Sixpence is the usual worn VG thing, but my Threepence is EF as I replaced it a while ago. The difference in quality is visible.
Loving Halfcrowns. British and Commonwealth coins 1750 - 1950 and anything Kiwi.
If it's round, shiny and silvery I will love it.

1939 UK coin set:

1939 English shilling:

A fairly routine year for British coins with no really low mintages.

My only other coin post for 1939, is these British coins in my collection, once we hit 1932, my collection focus will follow the path of New Zealand history and go from New Zealand to British coins that were used here between 1814 and 1933.

Starting with some CREAMY halfcrowns.

A very nice British 3d and a very unnice 6d. Fortunately these do not clash with NumisRob's coins for 1939.

I only have 2 photos for 1938, but quite a lot for 1933 - 1937.
