If you read the last few posts they have stopped the project unless your note is one of those already found.

Hello everyone,

I understand the bit of confusion here if you haven't had a chance to read all the posts, and see how the project has shifted gears a little.

The list keeper, our good friend Mr. Karol Winograd was running out of time in the day trying to keep up with verifying new notes, and adding them to the list, removing them from the list when someone sold their note on eBay, etc.

So, the project is still going, but it's been modified.

We are now geared towards finding the first match, from run 1.

So if you have a note with a serial number between 1 and 250k in this projects parameters, then those are still being recorded to the master list.

Email him at kwinograd@snet.net

If you have serial numbers between 3.2 million and 9.6 million, we're asking you to keep track of them yourself, and to check them against the current list. If you match one to the existing list, then email Mr. Karol Winograd, and he will still facilitate putting the two owners in contact with one another.

If you were already on the old mailing list, you will continue to receive a monthly updated list. If you were not already on the list, you can still go to Max's (Silverpicker) website and pull an updated list from there.

https://www.thesilverpicker.com/zwproject

There will be some big news coming out about the project and another 1st, sometime in July or August!

So stay tuned everyone!!

Well it's time to get the popcorn ready!

A little house cleaning first, there has been some debate on if these should even be considered an Error or not.
Dr. Frederick Bart has put an end to any question here.
Thru a recent correspondence with him on these pairs he states they "Should be classified as Production Errors with Duplicate Serial Numbers" and that he "Intends to identify these as such, in the 5th Edition of United States Paper Money Errors"
So that question is put to bed!

As all of you who have been following this from the very beginning know, this has been a true passion to find these matched pairs before they are gone from circulation. Our friend here, SteveInTampa, is the one who introduced me to this project, and a fantastic group of collectors whose passion for for this project spilled over and ignited me as well. This has always been about the success of the project and never about the money.
Now we've really re-focused our efforts to finding a match from the elusive first run of only 250k notes.

Even though this was never being done for the money, that question just never seems to go away. How much is one of these pairs worth? This is a rare error to begin with. And the actual odds of finding two matching serial numbers on two 1 dollar bills that have been out circulating in the world for years, is incalculable, although some have given it a valiant try.
So again, what is it worth? The speculation varies widely because a pair has never been sold. None of the owners want to part with such a special collectible, they are very personal to us.

As you know, there have been 7 actual matched pairs, brought together, and graded, and kept by 6 individual owners. The other 3 reported matched pairs, are still separated by individual owners.

The big news is, one pair is going up for Auction at this years ANA world fair of money.

StacksBowers will be handling the Auction. It will be Lot 20478.

You can use the following link to find and follow it.
Pre-bidding began at 2pm today.
Lot viewing in California will be July 21-23, 2021
Lot viewing in New York will be July 29-31, and August 1-2, 2021
Lot viewing for the ANA in Rosemont IL will be August 7-13, 2021
Live Auction will be August 18, 2021 at 2pm

So, is this exciting or what?

Keep safe everyone and have a wonderful summer!

Thank you Steve!
And thank you for getting the link right, I kept trying to do what you did and for some reason just couldn't get it right!
Your knowledge, and desire to help us all here, no matter the question, or topic, is so much appreciated!
Sometimes a "Thank you" just doesn't seem like enough, but you're all Aces in my book!!

Thanks Snoopydoo for your response. The link from 7 post up takes you to the list from April; is there a new list that I can check?

Thanks.

As far as the updated list being posted on that site by Max, AKA Silverpicker, all I know is he's been on vacation for a few weeks, and is still on vacation, so that is probably why that one isn't updated. Sorry.
I will try to get a message to him.
