Excellent find Jim0815

I have been setting aside all wheats till I do research on doubling.
After seeing this doubled die, I cant wait to start looking at the Wheaties I have put away.

Nice find ! I found one about 2 years ago. From what I have read, this one is more rare than the big one for "55". Less of a premium than the 001 because collectors prefer the bold doubling on the "Big One".

Here's the one I found

Yes, far more rare than the big 1955 DDO-001. A couple years ago I took one of these to the ANACS booth at a coin show to submit for grading and the guy, who sees thousands of top coins, made a point to note that I was submitting a rare one. It's not as strong, obviously, as the DDO-001, but it's still a super strong doubled die and the OP coin is in a desirable early die stage. Nice!

Thanks guys. TB, it is much more rarer than the big one for sure. It was the biggest surprise yet when I found it yesterday afternoon.
