Rare pieces of the notes, with no overprint on their reverse:

These pieces are catalogued as serienscheine types with a catalogue value of 100 euros each. The 'grossgeld' pieces (with the overprints on the backs) are about 5 euros each........so if you come across these types, always check!!
If you are a member of my GNCC (German Notgeld Collectors' Club) these are the sort of things you will become aware of and therefore have a much greater chance of finding some scarcer or rarer variant types. There are quite a few out there...........

I saw this episode. I love the program as it has so much fascinating stuff being bought and sold.
The notgeld album in the video clip is typical of what you can find on eBay or possibly in your local coin and banknote stores. The average price for a piece of notgeld is about a dollar or a euro, but if you buy in bulk, you can pay half of that. The big dealers know what they are doing so you won't get any scarcer pieces. It's a good way of starting of a collection but if you do it again and again, duplicates will build up. It looks like he paid about a dollar each, so with a couple of BILLION pieces and the album thrown in, it will make someone a nice starter collection.

I didn't know they go for so low. I though that in that album maybe there are some notes that are more unique.
I have some Notgeld notes that I need yet to identify and put in sleeves.

Some notgeld are worth over 1000 euros but those tend to be 'fancy' ones like linen, silk or velvet etc. Rarer paper pieces that resemble the pieces in the video album can be 500 euros each........so you need to know what to look for and then keep a good eye out !#128540;
Some sellers are ripping off collectors with silly prices for very common pieces, so to all, I say........please be careful and try and find and use reputable sellers.

The verse of the 1m note (top right) which depicts a miner, mentions 'the insatiable wolf'. That is a reference to Poland as Germany was losing a lot of land in the local plebiscites (people's voting).

Thanks @jbuck. I think the colours used on the notes of white, black, green and red look superb together.
